Tommy and Jeanette Horne began potting azaleas in the 1960′s. Tommy received his degree in Horticulture from the University of Florida. With his knowledge , love of plants, and vision, they opened Crestview Nurseries. They believed in growing their own plants to insure the highest level of quality and variety for their customers.
In 1980, their two sons Dusty and Gene joined the nursery team. As the business continued to grow, their daughter Bebe moved back to Crestview in 1993 and also joined the team. It was common to find Jeanette stationed in the spring, answering questions about plants and just chatting with familiar faces. All the children have worked during the summers.
Our customers love to stroll through the nursery. Variety is our specialty. Our customers enjoy browsing our selection of perennials, flowering shrubs and trees, container annuals and a varied selection of glazed and terra cotta pottery.
Today, they may stop to chat with Tommy Horne sitting on the swing eating breakfast. Or many customers ask about Duke, the family dog. Or they may see Kara, the youngest granddaughter, selling candy for a band fundraiser. With more than 40 years of growing outstanding plants, we are proud to be family owned and operated.
So if you need plants, a truckload of bark, compost, or field dirt, need to ask a question, or just want to walk around and get inspired with the hundreds of plants, we want you to come and visit Crestview Nurseries.
